NATO bids

In addition to security and defence, NATO offers significant business opportunities to Italian companies in other sectors related to its functioning. Acquisition of goods and services takes place through international bids promoted in Allied Countries. The responsible entity for Italy is the Ministry of Economic Development, through which the interested companies can request to be registered in the List of Italian companies having the requirements to participate in NATO bids. Participation in these bids requires a specific knowledge of the regulation in force within the framework of NATO, which differs from both Italian and European regulations. In order to facilitate the approach of Italian companies to the world of NATO, our Permanent Delegation, in addition to providing support in the different steps of the procedure, has prepared an ad hoc handbook intended to be an efficient working tool for a first contact with NATO bids.

You can read our Handbook for further information on business opportunities.

The companies' corner

Italian companies willing to present their products or activities – chiefly in the field of defence and security – at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels can submit a request to the Armament Office and address it to, .

Should the request be accepted, companies will have the opportunity to hold a short presentation at the NATO premises (in English), which will be followed by a Q&A session and/or by a exhibit/demonstration of their products or activities.
