Ambassador Zappia participated in the meeting “The Challenges of Cyber-security – Perspectives from Italy&US”, which took place in Rome on 9 July 2015

Organized by the magazines Formiche and Airpress, in collaboration with the Italian delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the conference saw the participation of Minister of Defence Roberta Pinotti, Mr. Andrea Manciulli (Chairman of the Italian delegation) and Ambassador Mariangela Zappia. During her speech, Ambassador Zappia described the principles that guide the Alliance in terms of cyber-defence – among which the possible use of Article 5 of the Treaty of Washington. She focused on a number of aspects related to the recent “Enhanced Policy” adopted by NATO such as cooperation with international partners – including the EU – and industry, stressing the potential business opportunies for Italy and Italian companies in this context.
