The Permanent Delegation of the Italian Republic to the North Atlantic Council is the diplomatic mission accredited by Italy to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – NATO.
Through its Permanent Delegation, Italy interacts with the Alliance and takes part in its activities, thus representing the interests of the Italian State within the international organization and its main bodies, e.g. the Secretariat, the North Atlantic Council and the Committees.
The Delegation is composed of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. It is currently headed by Ambassador Marco Peronaci, who took up his duties on 2nd January 2023 and represents the Italian Government within the North Atlantic Council, which is chaired by the NATO Secretary General and where sit the Permanent Representatives of all Member Countries.
